Joe Hagley has been the pastor of First Baptist Church of Cottage Hills since January 1999. Joe graduated from Barboursville (WV) High School in 1976. He received a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.S. in Missions from Liberty Baptist College (now Liberty University - Lynchburg, VA) in 1981 and a M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (South Hamilton, MA) in 1984. Prior to coming to First Baptist Church, Joe was the bi-vocational pastor of First Baptist Church of Hamlin, WV from 1996-1998 and worked full-time for the Mattress Warehouse from 1996-1998, working in both their sales and warehouse/operations departments. Joe played baseball (and softball), basketball, and football in his younger days, but now an avid golfer. Joe is married to the former Beth Payne, who graduated from Boyd County (KY) High School in 1983 and received a B.S. in Chemistry from Marshall University (Huntington, WV) in 1988. Beth currently works as a tax preparer for H & R Block. Beth is an avid reader, chocoholic and yard sale addict. Joe and Beth are proud parents of Rachel and Paul Hagley, who attend Alton Middle School. Both are avid readers like their mom and enjoy computer games.
